Parag Agrawal was born on 21 May 1984 in Mumbai, India, and is an IIT Mumbai alumnus.
He did his schools from the Atomic Energy Central School, Mumbai, and was a fellow student of the Indian playback singer Shreya Ghoshal.
Parag Agrawal has done PhD in Computer Science from Stanford University.
Parag won the International Physics Olympiad held in Turkey in 2001 and was awarded a gold medal for the feat.
Prior to joining Twitter, Parag Agrawal, had a brief stint and held leadership positions at Microsoft, Yahoo and AT&T.
Agrawal joined Twitter in October 2011 as a Distinguished Software Engineer.
In October 2017, Twitter announced Agrawal as chief technology officer (CTO).
On November 29, 2021, Agrawal became the CEO of Twitter, Inc.
As CEO, Agrawal was awarded annual compensation of $1 million as well as stock compensation worth $12.5 million.
Agrawal was fired as CEO once Elon Musk completed his acquisition of the company on October 27, 2022.
